GEZ Rail Solutions expands existing business in the USA
Rail-based passenger transportation in the USA is experiencing a fantastic upswing, from which European rail vehicle manufacturers with a local presence are benefiting.
GEZ Rail Solutions once again traveled to Sacramento, California for a project meeting lasting several days in the first week of November.
Modern trimodal locomotives are equipped with redundant and highly available battery charging systems, while locomotive-hauled passenger coaches are equipped with decentralized devices from Dinslaken/Gladbeck in series production.
The main purpose of the trip was to emphasize the now unrestricted personal exchange to maintain the long-term customer relationship and to finalize the new development order for modern vehicles.
As the functional scope and equipment of the tried-and-tested battery charging systems have to constantly prove themselves anew in line with customer requirements, an advanced generation of equipment is needed. More than 175 new locomotives will and should be equipped with them in the coming years, which will give GEZ enormous planning security, and not just for the launch at the new site in Gladbeck in 2024.
In addition to the standard requirements from European and American standards, official “Buy America” requirements will also be implemented due to government involvement in major projects. On the other hand, the expansion of our local partner companies, as also presented in the meeting, should make the planned local GEZ representation possible in the coming year, in addition to an increased presence for local service and maintenance support for GEZ solutions.
We are very much looking forward to all these and other exciting challenges for our US business and hope to be able to provide our American customers with even more comprehensive support.
