GEZ Rail Solutions successfully completes the refurbishment of M and P carriages in Munich
Successful completion of the vehicle refurbishment, including dynamic testing – GEZ Rail Solutions has successfully completed the refurbishment of the M carriage (built in 1957) and the P carriage (built in 1967) in Munich, culminating in dynamic testing.
As part of the refurbishment, the trams were fitted with a voltage step-down unit. This ensures that the existing mains voltage is reduced to the trams’ original operating voltage. This allows the electrical supply to be adapted to the specific requirements of the historic tram technology.
The successful completion of the refurbishment work and the dynamic testing marked an important milestone in the run-up to the historic tram’s anniversary celebrations on the third weekend in October. The technical adaptation helps to prepare the two heritage trams for their intended use and to combine historic tram technology with modern solutions. With the successful completion of the refurbishment work and the dynamic testing, GEZ Rail Solutions has successfully delivered yet another project.
