SBRS Supplies High-Tech Rear Lights to an Innovative Freight Wagon

The Dinslaken-based specialist for exterior rail vehicle lighting (headlights and rear lights) is supplying innovative rear lights for a research project on innovative freight wagons, in which the Westfälische Lokfabrik Reuschlingen, the sensor specialist Lenord & Bauer and the University of Applied Sciences in Aachen are playing a major role. The SBRS lights are deployed as intelligent rear train lights – the wagon automatically recognises that it is the last in the train and automatically switches on the rear train light. When at a standstill, during loading or brake testing for example, the light can also be used to signal the current state of the wagon. Ulrich Jacobs and Prof. Dr. Manfred Enning (both from the University of Applied Sciences in Aachen) and Burkhard Stritzke, Innovation Manager at Lenord & Bauer, were keen to carry out the installation themselves.
