GEZ develops SŽ UIC gateways for a long-term business partner

The Slovenian railway SŽ commissions GEZ Rail Solutions GmbH to supply UIC gateways for the door handling procedures handled differently on the UIC-lines. In Austria, for example, 24 V continuous signals for door blocking are switched on UIC-lines 14 and 15, whereas on the Italian railway it is 24 V release pulses on the same lines.

The gateways are connected between the 18-pin UIC and the door control lines and recognise automatically which European locomotive is in front. The UIC signals are converted accordingly so that the doors are either blocked or released.

GEZ Rail Solutions GmbH takes care of the integration in 3 different vehicle types (ABeelmt, Beelm and WRlmt).
