In Austria, for example, 24 V continuous signals for door blocking are switched on UIC-lines 14 and 15, whereas on the Italian railway it is 24 V release pulses on the same lines.<\/p>\n<p>The gateways are connected between the 18-pin UIC and the door control lines and recognise automatically which European locomotive is in front.
